European yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is the species that is common in gardens and the nursery trade. Compared to the European species, the wildflower's leaf is wider and more finely dissected, almost thread-like. Flowers are produced in a flat cluster on a stalk that stands above the foliage. This is an easy plant in the garden that can spread rapidly by rhizomes in a sunny site where it is an excellent groundcover. It spreads more slowly in part shade than in full sun. In part shade, the leaves are a little more luxuriant and fern-like. The flowers attract a wide assortment of insect pollinators. The aromatic foliage makes it deer resistant.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0754/9501/4687/files/84DCD4F5-4A5E-484C-960A-034E81271BDA.jpg?v=1713376411
