Greenish tubular flowers are produced at the top of a tall spike. It is one of a small number of Agave species which have rosettes that can bloom multiple times during its lifespan. A single plant will slowly multiply to form a clump of rosettes. It can be used as an accent in a formal garden, naturalized in a well-drained site and it makes a nice container specimen. Bees during the day and various moths at night are the primary pollinators but hummingbirds are reported to visit the plant, too. Deer will browse on the soft leaves.
