This showy wildflower spreads slowly by underground rhizomes. The daisies are about an 1” wide and are produced in large, branched clusters at the stem tops. It is native to South Carolina's low country but grows well in the Upstate. It is one of the last wildflowers in bloom. It is suitable for a perennial border in a moist site and for naturalizing. It could be useful for erosion control along waterways. Butterflies, bees and other insect pollinators are attracted to the flowers. It may be browsed by deer.
