This wildflower develops a clump of upright stems with yellow, star-shaped flowers. The leaves are opposite or whorled around the stem. It is adaptable but may require watering during dry spells. It is appropriate for a formal garden or for naturalizing. The flowers attract native bees, butterflies and other insect pollinators. It is considered to be deer resistant.
