This wildflower is distinguished from other species of foamflower, in part, by its long, leafy stolons. Rather than clumping, it runs to form colonies. The leaves have pointed lobes. The attractive spikes of white flowers in spring resemble those of other foamflower species. It is an excellent ground cover for a shady garden. It may require some water during extended dry spells. Flowers are visited by bees, flower flies and other insect pollinators. Deer and rabbits tend to leave them alone. Slugs and snails may become problems for this plant.
