This wildflower was formerly known as Coreopsis major. This clumping plant has comparatively large, 2" daisies. Stems are upright to arching. Six leaflets (from two leaves) at each node give each stem a distinctive appearance. This plant is suitable to a formal or informal garden and for naturalizing. Cut off old flowers if volunteer seedlings are not wanted. The flowers attract butterflies and other insect pollinators. Birds will eat the seeds. It is at least somewhat deer resistant.
