This is a clumping, evergreen sedge that is newly introduced to the nursery trade. It grows naturally in dry, open woodlands and develops into a substantial clump of fine-textured leaves. It is an adaptable, easy plant in the garden and is drought tolerant once established. The Mt. Cuba Center calls it "a top performer". It is suitable for anything from a formal garden to a natural site. Plant one as a specimen plant, use several together as a tall groundcover or plant a border. Deer tend to leave sedges alone.
