This is a tall wildflower that grows in a tight clump. The dark green leaves are coarsely toothed. White flowers are are produced in flattened clusters at the tops of the stems in fall. It grows easily in the garden and is suitable for naturalizing. Remove old seed heads if you wish to control volunteer seedlings. The flowers attract a wide assortment of insect pollinators. It is reported to be deer resistant.
