This is a large wildflower that spreads by rhizomes. It has a basal rosette of large leaves in winter and spring, then tall leafy flower stalks in late summer through fall. Because of its size and spread, it may be best suited to a naturalistic setting. The daisies attract butterflies and other insect pollinators. Goldfinches feed on its seeds. It is reported to be resistant to browse by deer and rabbits.
