This cheerful, easy wildflower is identified by the whorls of leaves on the leafy flowering stalk. Bright yellow daisies are produced at the top of the stalk. This plant is suitable for a formal garden, the back of a flower border or a natural area. It will be shorter in sunny, dry sites. The flowers attract a wide assortment of insect pollinators. Birds will eat the seeds. It is a host for the silphium moth. It has some deer and rabbit resistance but it is best to protect young plants.
