Erigeron pulchellus 'Lynhaven Carpet' - Lynhaven Carpet Robin's Plantain
Height: 3" foliage, 1 - 2' flower stalk
Spread: 2' plus
Light Needs: sun to part shade
Water: average
Flower color: lavender
Bloom time: late March, April
This wildflower has leaves in rosettes nearly flat on the ground. Flower stalks hold white to lavender daisies high above the foliage in early spring. The selection spreads by short stolons to produce a mat of overlapping rosettes. In the garden, it is an attractive, low groundcover that provides color early in the spring. Bees are the primary pollinators. Birds eat the seeds. Deer tend to ignore it, probably because its leaves are so close to the ground.
'Lynhaven Carpet' was selected for its dense, carpeting growth habit. We offer this selection because it is a nice form and it is readily available to us. We are propagating a wild type for future sales.
