This wildflower has branching, upright stalks topped by clusters of white flowers. It can spread slowly by rhizomes in time and will produce volunteer seedlings. With a little work, it can be used in a formal garden. It is well suited to informal gardens and natural settings. The flowers attract butterflies, bees and other pollinators. The plant is reported to be toxic to livestock but it is browsed by deer.
